Snow and Travel Decisions

It has been an unusual weekend. It has snowed here a great deal. About ten inches total have fallen. The snowfall began on Friday about noon or so, maybe a little before noon. It continued through Saturday evening until about 7:00 p.m. or so. There is lots of it. It is light, clean, fluffy snow. It will be interesting to see if the amount will impact school and exams this week.

The snow has made a major event in this house. The ladies' trip to Cleveland was made in spite of the level two snow emergencies that existed in their path. They did not leave until after midnight on Friday because the Ney branch of the family was unprepared for a trip that they knew for more than two months that they were taking.

The group left right into the teeth of the storm going east, where conditions would be in the "worst is yet to come". It has to be one of the most bizarre cases of the inability to make a decision and to consider the other people involved in the trip. The entire experience was and is just wrong on so many levels, that it would rank in the top 10 most bizarre things I have witnessed in my lifetime.

Needless to say I was/am not good with the decision. The particular circumstances of the departure probably is what has put me over the top. The return today will undoubtedly bring fireworks.

There are plenty of other events on the horizon. It is not long until I will have to make some very difficult decisions regarding my future in the leadership role. I will have to make a decision about this summer's AP work. It is this decision that I feel the most pressure over, even though the leadership position decision will have a far greater impact on the entirety of my day to day existence.

Today will be shoveling and preparing for the upcoming week.

Keep a smile on and stay warm.
