Snow Day #3, A First, and a Decline.
Today is the third consecutive snow day.
How to best utilize the days has forever been a challenge. So far the days on this series have been utilized doing school work, bill receipt organization, and some assistance to cleaning the dishwasher/refrigerator. It has been somewhat productive.
Wood County was placed on a level two yesterday, and adjusted to a level one today. Most of the other surrounding counties went to a level three.... It has been a quite a string of days with snowing and blowing, but without a doubt.... The single most amazing thing was the no snow Wednesday snow day. The forecast had called for a seven a.m. start for the first flakes. Seven came and went.... Eight.... Nine.... No snow.... No snow until about 4:30 p.m..... now mind you that we received about 3/4 of an inch of rain.... but... well.. It is important to note that it was the first snowless snow day of my fifty-six year school career. Memorable.
Today should be totally stress free. It is not. It is unexplainable. The no school call came about six p.m. last night.... and the sign that there would be no obligations for third day and that with Saturday and Sunday should have relieved all anxiety.... but for some reason..... it has only ramped up. I suspect that the stress is truly rooted in the upcoming end of my career. It is sad that the anxiety has gripped me.
One last note, I had two offers to attend the Toledo vs. Ohio coming up this Tuesday. There are few words to describe how sad it made me to decline both offers. But.... it had to be done. I will not be a burden on others. Period. Period.
Onward and onward.
