September and lessening of the light.
September arrived yesterday.
The gradual decline in sunlight is definitely noticeable. Each morning the sun does not rise nearly as early, and it has grown steadily darker and darker earlier and earlier. It seems as if my mindset follows. It is not a particularly good feeling. In fact, the trend is worrisome.
Allison was on the Island yesterday. She is recovering from a somewhat mild case of hand foot and mouth disease. Her spirit was positive and she played hard all day long. She is the sunlight these days. Thank goodness for her.
This week the maple tree to the north will be removed. I have avoided dealing with it long enough. The South maple will be pruned to remove some of the broken limbs and just make it safer for everyone involved. The negotiated price was $2500 dollars. Much higher than I had hoped for, but like replacing the Sonata, it will help relieve some of my anxiety.
The weather has been something out of a picture book this past week. Each morning has been cool, somewhere between 50 and 65, and the afternoons have been a fine 72-80. Simply fine.
Do your best to stay positive as the dreary winter approaches. It will arrive whether or not we are ready.
Peace.
