The Quest for Empty and Other Random Thoughts
Empty.
It seems as though I am on a quest for empty. It seems to be at the root of my fascination with minimalism and the concept of less. I suspect that it began roughly about the time of the cleaning/purging of my dad's home and really ramped up with the exit from room 325. The intentional purging at 144 Windsor Drive followed. It is fascinating to contemplate where it will end. It is also probably good to examine the binary nature of empty versus full. Why must it be one way or the other? Perhaps it would be best to get to the heart of empty and full's definitions. Why not seek balance as to empty versus full. Such an analysis is certainly in order.
Thursday.
Thanksgiving has come and gone complete with #2 and family's visit. A traditional meal served at about 1:30. It was low key and everyone seemed fine. #1 facetimed for about half an hour and interacted a bit with Allison. It was interesting. It was also interesting that there was zero contact with #1's significant other. Zero.
Saturday.
Saturday was spent reading and watching the annual Michigan versus Ohio State football game. It is always wonderful to see Michigan win.Sister #2 called to ask about my desire to keep some items at 114 Robrock Street. I wanted to sing when she stated that she was making great progress removing large items, i.e.. furniture from the house. Progress. I asked and she complied by snapping a few photos of the results of her labor. Glorious. Closer and closer to being able to go inside and perhaps even spending a night. The Michigan versus Ohio State football game is also in the rearview mirror.
Monday.
Today is the final Monday of November 2023. It is a cold windy sort of a day. Allison was to visit today, but due to some unforeseen circumstances, she will not visiting the Island. She certainly brings energy to the Island. She definitely is a breath of fresh air.
Music.
I have been working some on my music collection. A particularly interesting find is a tune, Slow Waltz to Hell by The Aquaerials. It is a deep piano piece that is exceptionally contemplative. I like it a lot. The road that led to the discovery is notable in that it has been the method to several discoveries over the past six months or so. The process begins at a website, the Internet Archives. Once inside the site one can wander and fall into rabbit holes that lead to other discoveries. Slow Waltz to hell was discovered through a tune called This or That. From there you scroll down a bit to the reviews. The second review was by aquaerials which led to the Slow Waltz to Hell.

Endure on into December. Do your best not to let the lack of sunshine or the increasing cold weather dig too deeply into your being and leave you empty.
