The Annual Girls' Reunion

 

The annual Girls' Reunion is taking place in Sandusky. It is back to their bed and breakfast tour and this place looks pretty typical of the places that they choose. What is a bit unusual is the timing.  It is a full week early and the first time that it has occurred during the week.   Everyone seems to be having a nice time. 

Here on the Island, it has been a day of masonry with the driveway being shaped and poured as a part of the street reconstruction project. I am moderately concerneed that in the rush to get things completed the actual drainage pattern may be off a little. I specifically and concerned about a pond forming directly on the drive.   Hopefully my concerns are overblown, but we shall see.

Sister #2 texted that she has received approval to return to work, but at a reduced schedule and the ablity to limit her overhead lifting. Unfortunately her employer disagrees with the parameters.  We shall see how things pan out.

Chatted this afternoon with Aunt Orpha. She seemeed pretty up beat and shared a few stories. She and her caregiver, Hope, had been to a birthday event for a friend of Aunt Orpha's who turned 104 today. It has to be a little unusual when you are 102 and not the oldest person at the party.  She shared several family stories about her brother Brooks and her Uncle Matt.  It is always humbling to chat with her. 

Yesterday was son #1's birthday. Thirty-seven. Another year apart from his family. It is awful. Simply awful. 

Stay positive and alert. Don't let the past take up too much of the present.
